Quote(s) of the Week

Kid’s say the darnedest things.

But sometimes adults say some pretty memorable things too.

Here’s some excerpts from my favorite quotes of the week:

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes…the ones who see things differently-they’re not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things…they push the human race forward, while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see them as genius, because the ones that thing they are crazy enough to change the world…are the ones that usually do. (Steve Jobs-from Apple’s “Think Different” campaign a few years ago).
“Normal is overrated. Love covers a multiple of oddities” (from blogger Punk at http://theshortstorylong.blogspot.com/ I was serious when I said I may have this quote made into a T-shirt. It rocks)
“That was my butt” (Princess Saraboo in response to my inquiry as to what was the explosive sounds emitting from her tiny body was. Can’t argue with that).

“If you can’t wake up with a smile on your face, go to bed with a coat hanger in your mouth”. (President of Arbonne Rita Davenport during her motivational speaker days-still love this quote 20 years later).
Have you heard any good quotes this week???

I agree, normal is totally overrated!

Great quotes – especially the one from Princess Saraboo… Kids are too darn cute.

    Stopping by from SITS.

Love the Punk quote, too. Actually, all of them are great Maybe you should make Princess Saraboo’s into a t-shirt instead? I think that would be brilliant.

My best quote from this week? Um…my 4 year old – “Did you know elephants make really big toots?” (as in farts)

    I know. Pretty deep. ;)

‘Some people are like Slinkies. You can’t help but smile when you push them down the stairs.’
I am not sure who said it but it makes me smile.

    Happy Friday.

    Funny quotes…

I saw your comments on Pursuit of Mommyness about reasons why you follow a mommy blog.

I am the mom of f.i.v.e. crazy boys. I write about my journey and just try to survive in the process … I tell them that one of these days they are going to find me on protest in the tree in our front yard. They laugh and do not believe me!

I’m always amazed at how eloquently people put great thoughts out there! Usually everything out of my mouth is either nonsense or unrepeatable. LOL

Love your quotes! I am such a sucker for quotes.

Here are a few of my current favorites.

“Enjoy every sandwich” Warren Zevon’s advice before his untimely death.

“I only mark the hours that shine.” Edie Beale, a mad, eccentric recluse. Wise words to live by.

    And my favorite:
“Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I’m not living.” Jonathan Safran Foer. Beautiful words and so true for me.

Thank you for sharing your great quotes.

I know this is terrible, but I have to be honest, I LOVE it when toddlers swear. I laugh everytime, but only when it’s random. I do try not to laugh because I do not want to egg them on.

    One of my favorites:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results- this would make you insane right now.
(The Director of the Teen theatre program I work with says this at least once a summer)

    Brilliant quotes!

“That was my butt” is by far my favorite :)

  31. Bea February 11, 2010 at 4:23 pm #

    That was my butt. LOL!

One of my favorite quotes is by Dr. Seuss, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”

    ~Bea~
